I’ve been working on crafting this art kit for a few months! I feel very empowered to make art just about anywhere I’m at. Thankful for these little pleasures.

So no—I’m not mad about the joke.
It’s accurate.
But I am mad about the system.
We didn’t just end up here.
This was a machine.
And now I’m wondering…
What other systems am I feeding without even realizing it?

The system that got us sick didn’t try to fix it—it just found a new market to sell to:
Us, trying to undo the damage.
Gyms, shakes, fitness tapes, supplements, smart bikes, fasting apps, etc.

By the 70s, we were subsidizing corn & soy so heavily that HFCS showed up in everything—ketchup, bread, even “healthy” food.
And by the 80s?
We were told to fear fat.
Snack packs, sugar bombs, buy workout clothes and diet fads.

But that push didn’t stop. It got absorbed into something bigger.
Food became a product.
Marketing took over.
Subsidies made processed food cheap.
And we eat for convenience, not health.

After WWI & WWII, the U.S. realized a lot of Americans were too malnourished and skinny to fight. So they pushed school lunches, dietary guidelines, & nutrition programs. Not for kindness but for war.

It hit hard—because it’s true.
We eat like there are no consequences. But there are. And they’re systemic.
