On the 8th #ShowYourStripes day, a thread on how and why these simple graphics have spread across the world.

TV weather forecasters (led by Jeff Beraradelli & Climate Central) organised the first event to use the warming stripes widely (June 21st 2018). Laura Tobin used them in the UK.
And, a Tesla in Minnesota was a striking early example of how the graphic can be used creatively to spark conversations.
The graphics were used at rock concerts (Enter Shikari), sports teams (Reading FC) and at London Fashion Week (Lucy Tammam).
Each time they have reached a different audience who would not normally talk about climate change.
The White Cliffs of Dover have even been lit up with the stripes!
