I'm a big fan of the attention to mundane lore you can come across in TES.

For instance: on the Gold Coast during the 2nd Era you can find the journal of Fantos Epilion, who was trying to recreate a successful experiment in shaping shatterproof potion flasks from dreugh 'grom'.
