I'm sick of having my government name on here and i only did it because animation people told me i had to do it so recruiters could find me for jobs LMAO

It has gotten progressively worse over the years, which is genuinely disheartening. It's not even reflective of numbers, because I had more followers on Twitter and it was the same. I think people are just a lot less inclined to really interact on modern social media nowadays. UGH

I feel like so much of my work has been fragmented because the animation industry said things weren't "professional" enough, so I had a very distant persona on my "professional" main. But where I've REALLY been able to be accepted and be myself are places where my username isn't my legal name.

Do you recognize me by my username? My icon? My art?

I'm low key thinking of rebranding. My accounts have been "edmeadart" for 10+ years, because people said I should put my name out there to get jobs. But now, I miss the days of having a username that distances me from "professional" life.

I dunno. It feels like people truly interact so little nowadays, and it's obvious I'm in the wrong space. I just want to surround myself with more supportive, creative people that are down to uplift each other.

Idk what it is, but lately I've REALLY been struggling with feeling like the art and animation space is just... Very much shouting into the void.
I remember how joyful it was to share fandom artwork on tumblr back in the day, but sharing art just feels like "content" now, even with other artists.

Hyperfixates on starting a new business idea so hard I don't become conscious until 5PM and realizes my Saturday is gone... 🧍
