I feel like at least once a month I get into a mood where I can't stop thinking about this and how much it sucks. We spent most of human history painting on cave walls to tell stories and chiselling religious epics into stone and then suddenly in our tiny chunk of time all the adults went NO MORE

Like they can't enjoy a story if someone drew it. They can enjoy a painting, but not a story if it's drawn. Why?? There are so many things wrong with our culture, not allowing yourself to enjoy a story because it's made of art is so wild

It fucks me up that most adults can't take art seriously as a medium for storytelling. Like it's considered a normal thing for adults to enjoy going to a museum and hanging a painting in their house but they draw the line at reading a graphic novel because "comics are for kids". That's insane.

Comics/graphic novels aren’t recognized or taken seriously as literature in the publishing industry, despite taking twice as much work to create as prose novels, and it just breaks my heart.
