It means you're behind on your sleep payments, and the sleep bank has decided to garnish your sleep pay..
On this note, why *aren't* we making more creative TTS voices? Maybe I don't want it to sound "human", maybe I want it to sound like the dying light of a thousand stars! Or the sound of 400 car batteries vaporizing a copper bar! Or maybe a brass band!
The real thrill of the Olympics is every time I look at my phone I’m ignoring the most important 90 seconds of a person’s life.
Sounds similar to the advice my dad gave me the first time I was driving on country roads: "You can hit a kangaroo if you have to, the windshield will protect you, but *always* avoid a wombat - it'll destroy your front axle and then walk it off, leaving you stranded on the road!"
I call this Alan Cumming look "The Darkwing Duck".
Both are fantasies that aren't possible, of course. Good stories end, and the stories that don't end eventually stop becoming good stories, just as no video game can infatuate you forever - at some point the experience has to end!
There is, I think, a parallel between this fantasy, and the fan fantasy of the eternal TV/novel series that you never have to say goodbye to, where you can consume your favourite characters, forever. The story almost stops mattering, you just want to sustain that fan feeling unto eternity.
In short, it is a game where you can play forever, perpetually entranced, always with something new and interesting to engage with.
It's the game you can fall in love with, and it never had to end. The magic and glory of that First Playthrough, but forever.
I don't commit syntax to memory for any language - that's why I bookmark the reference pages! There's much more important stuff I need to encode within my meat-brain!
I feel like you probably shouldn't listen to either of them anyway, so maybe it doesn't matter whether they're organic or synthetic...
There's no reason for an indie shop to join up - they don't need more than a local reach, so you don't need centralised marketing, and the businesses that supply these shops have in effect already centralised the supply chain. What could a chain offer an Indie store to be worth the profit cut?
"Now that parliament has started and the new seating plan is in place, Tony Burke got to use the line he has been waiting to use all summer:
"We now have the cross, the very cross and the apoplectic benches”

The Pitt got greenlit for a season 3, out next February, and the announcement has very funny comment from HBO chairman Casey Bloys that’s like “yeah, turns out if you just make a TV show like how we used to make TV shows you can have a 15+ episode season every year 🤷♂️”
And you've probably not heard anything about it because it's been funded, made and distributed by YouTuber Markiplier, and the fact that it even *has* a inter/national release is thanks to his fans emailing cinemas asking for the movie!
I have indeed seen it! It's not a bad adaptation of the game, and I found it quite intense (especially at the end). It's aesthetic is very mid-budget, but honestly that's pretty impressive considering it's quite low-budget!
In Australia it’s not called “twink death” it’s moving into your golden gaytime
You can’t tell me we have a functioning economic system when the richest man in human history is one of the most profoundly stupid people in human history
Hot take: Frieren: Beyond Journey's End is the most Australian-coded anime ever. It's stillness, effortless character focus and use of wilderness is so similar to Aussie films and TV that I can't *not* notice it, even as it so clearly *is* a very Japanese piece of fiction.
Perfect. No notes 😙👌
what u have to understand is that working on my novel, answering dms, and answering emails all cost 1 spell slot but posting? Posting is a cantrip
Been rewatching Golden Girls. Grew up with the dub, it's crazy how different the sub is.
Just discovered the subreddit r/accidentalrockwell and it is delightful
Does depend on how many other wars the US gets into before that point. The US military can get into, like, two major campaigns tops before it's at capacity...
fwiw, I think the best way to think of this is not really as "trump is the worst ever" so much as "trump takes all the worst aspects of american history and speed runs them all at once"
