I find it funny that the premise of this interview is like “You know what voice we haven’t heard enough of? An anti-LGBTQ, racist pastor.” But also you wouldn’t know from this interview but Partridge is a straight up groyper-posting “hey the Holocaust was good actually” guy

A plane dropping bombs with snippets of Anthropic's Claude advertising on it: "There has never been a better time to have a problem" "Keep thinking" and the Claude logo.

can't roll my eyes enough at the QuitGPT initiative telling people to switch to Anthropic as the "more ethical" option. we gotta raise our standards for the alternatives we imagine for ourselves y'all

It uses some Bing search output, I'm not sure if it's fair to says it's "based" on Bing or not. I've tested by searching the same thing in both and seen different results, so it's not just skinned Bing, or at least it wasn't last time I checked.

In the beginning, the Universe was created.

This had made many people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move.

Years ago in a book called "America, The Book" the writers of the Daily Show posed a Q&A:

Q: Why do they hate us?
A: Because the shrapnel in their bedroom wall says "Lockheed-Martin" on it.

Kind of wild that every day yet another tech company advertises why I should never, ever use their product.

Reminds me of Ginger from CASINO doing coke in front of her daughter while telling her never to do this. If you are against fascism and you keep voting for the fascist guy’s appointees then I think you might not actually be against fascism!

Katie Wilson is proposing a 7-year, $410 million library levy renewal. The previous 7 year levy approved in 2019 was $219 million.

Expanded hours, building infrastructure upgrades, and increased materials are being put front-and-center with the renewal.

Official map from NOAA depicting the relative rank of winter 2025-2026 temperatures at a county level across the contiguous U.S. Many counties in the western and central U.S. are depicted in dark red color, signifying record-warmest winter. All other counties in the west and central U.S. are depicted in dark orange colors, signifying a "near record warm" rank.

The official NOAA stats out this week confirm that winter 2025-26 was the warmest on record across a huge portion of the western and central U.S., which has contributed to extremely low mountain snowpack & worsened the CO River crisis. Meanwhile, record March heat is in forecast.

ICE has a playbook for buying warehouse detention centers: move fast, tell nobody, and let communities find out from property records or news leaks. It's happened in at least 20 towns across the country. A thread. 🧵

Con: LOL no...no not those views

Me: So....deregulation?

everyone is extraordinarily desperate to pretend that Donald Trump is a coherent individual with a real plan who understands what is happening in the world and none of that is true

Republicans are using kids as a smokescreen for what Big Tech lobbyists want: a national surveillance program to harvest our data with zero protections for people and their privacy.

We must fight this dangerous expansion of surveillance technology.

Fun fact: I got fired once over TNPS surveys, and the issue wasn't even that I got bad surveys, it was that I talked to people who weren't in the system and couldn't be emailed surveys.

Waffles, a cat who apparently enjoys doing yoga on the newly installed artificial grass. This is my friend's house, they just finished a lot of refurbishing and it's quite lovely.

Trump *is* doing debt cancellation.

It's just not your student or medical debts.

In his second term alone, Trump has already canceled $1.5 billion of criminal debt — payments fraudsters owe the federal government and victims.

They don't mind debt cancellation—for themselves.

If someone breaks the law and nobody enforces it because of the offender’s power, then the law does not apply to the powerful, and the law, subordinated to power, is revealed as illegitimate in its helplessness and/or corruption.

Ring's Jamie Siminoff has been trying to calm privacy fears since the Super Bowl, but his answers may not help | TechCrunch The facial recognition question is where things get more tangled.

He can do a perpetual damage control tour for the next 30 years, but it doesn’t change the fact that he’s trying to build the panopticon.

Worth also noting that some of these gig platforms also disrupted heavily unionized industries—taxis, etc.,—so not only do we now have a new 21st century servant class, we’ve had to start at square one in terms of organizing those workers (thinking of the Uber “independent contractor” fight)

Alabama set to execute man who did not kill anyone Unless Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey intervenes, Charles “Sonny” Burton, 75, will be executed Thursday. He is among thousands in America convicted under a controversial felony murder law.

Across the country, various right-wing nonprofits and tech bros (especially Elon Musk) are rewriting the laws in every state to make them MORE punitive, not less, thus guaranteeing that such grave injustices are more common.
