Professor Kočovský’s scientific legacy, as well as the research inspired by his work, will be celebrated on 17 March at the one-day special symposium Chemistry That Connects Us, held at our institute. 3/4
Even before 1989, he gained international experience, including at Cornell & Uppsala.
After 1989, he held positions at @uniofleicester.bsky.social and @glasgowunisrc.bsky.social. In 2014, he returned to the Czech Republic and, alongside @sciencecharles.bsky.social , rejoined IOCBPrague. 2/4
👨🔬 As a young chemist, Pavel Kočovský began working at #IOCBPrague in the early 1970s, shortly after the 1968 occupation.
Under the supervision of Professors Černý and Šorm, he focused on #steroidchem and became one of the prominent figures in this field... 1/4
🎓 Kateřina Balážová Faltejsková from Jiří Vondrášek Group has succesfully. defended her PhD thesis at Charles University: Motif prediction in nucleotide sequences using Markov and hybrid models.
