Some aircraft contrails persist and spread out to form a hazy layer.
This hazy layer may be responsible for 1-2% of global warming.

Yes it is really extremely difficult to compare. I have no idea either, but it feels like a higher quality of at least day-to-day life here and I think that maybe more important than income ultimately
26.11.2025 17:49 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I just checked, apparently an average tax of 31 (rising to 33)% on ยฃ100,000 is in fact correct in the UK. No wonder the infrastructure feels like it's crumbling.
(My income tax starts at 38% and I'm far from that kind of income in Denmark)..
Either this calculator is broken or people *really* don't pay much tax in the UK.*

How much carbon budget do we have left if we want to stay below 1.5หC?
Just 2 more years at current rates. It is essentially impossible to avoid global temperature rise exceeding 1.5หC.

Handwriten manuscript of the Baroque Cycle, a three-volume speculative epic set in the 17th century, when the scientific revolution was beginning to take shape. Author Neal Stephenson says, "The Baroque Cycle fits under the broader vision of what sclence fiction is about... fiction that's not considered good unless it has interesting Ideas in it." The Baroque Cycle: Quicksilver, The Confusion, and The System of the World, by Neal Stephenson, William Morrow Books, New York, 2003-2004 The manuscript consists of two stacks of handwritten foolscap pages; one stack is approximately 60cm deep, the one beside it is 40cm thick.
