Just putting the pieces together about Bret's passing. 💔 I had hope for him as my mom was diagnosed with an incredibly rare cancer w/an incredibly low survival rate...but 5+ years later she's still here. Sending thoughts and prayers to Bret's family. Fuck cancer indeed!

I don't either...but then again I'm just getting old. It is SO different these days than in the 70s & 80s. So many teachers made a difference in the life of this very shy kid back then...from math to language to music to culinary arts. Sigh. Lots of love & respect to you for being a teacher. 💜

So sorry to hear what you're going through, Bret. Prayers & good thoughts to you. Dana Farber is incredible & literally saved my friend's life from ALL. Also my mom was diagnosed Stage 3 of a rare & aggressive cancer in 2019 w/2-3% 5-year survival rate & she's still here. Miracles do happen. 💜🙏💜

🙋‍♀️ Yup. But at 57, I don't care as much about it as I would have at 37. Surviving cancer really put things in perspective for me, especially who I can count on for support. I know it's tough, but try not to let it get you down. The right people will always find you. 💜

I feel this memory & totally emphasize. Back in the '90s, I worked for a college & we were paid monthly. I would always be so broke by the end of the month & scrounging for lunch money. Most of those days it was the 60 cent mashed potatoes or the dollar breadsticks. Good luck with your book. 💜
