The arts and culture have a unique power to shift perceptions, spark debate, make people laugh, cry, or simply stop and think.

Very often, artists and arts organisations themselves are on the forefront of making meaningful changes and shifting mindsets.

Climate change is the biggest crisis we’re facing right now. Slashing funding or erasing all mentions of the word “climate“ won’t of course change anything. Navigating this uncharted territory, it’s vital for us to understand the implications this will have on our lives.

I was previously asked if this will be recorded or streamed—the answer is no. But since this is a public university, the lecture is open to everyone, so if you’re in Prague, come along.

Crucial topics will be discussed. Is Taylor Swift really the worst polluter of our time? How do you measure your carbon footprint? What are the best ways to cut emissions without compromising on the quality? Can nature itself be recognised as an artist, cashing in royalties from Spotify?

On Thursday, 27 February, I’m heading back to Arts Management at the Prague University of Economics and Business to give a talk on environmental sustainability in the performing arts as part of their English-language programme.
