The Ty Newydd Chambered tomb near Llanfaelog on #Anglesey. #Cadw states that although it's #Neolithic in date, it appears to have had continued use in the Bronze Age and that faint cup and rings marks have been found on the capstone. It was formerly covered by a cairn.

Another good day with the Association of Lighthouse Keepers tour of Anglesey. We went to Holyhead Breakwater lighthouse, where we climbed the tower, and also to the disused Admiralty Pier/Salt Island lighthouse at Holyhead Port.

An excellent day today with the Association of Lighthouse Keepers tour of Anglesey, visiting the Skerries and South Stack.

It's not every day that north-west Wales gets invaded by the Spanish Armada! The historical ship Galeón Andalucía is visiting Caernarfon for the next few days.

Yes, the road was rerouted when an aluminium smelter was built on the site. The marker may have been destroyed in the process, but the researcher cited in the article hopes that maybe someone rescued it and has it in storage or in their garden!

Does anyone know the location of the missing Telford milestone near Holyhead? 82 of the distinctive markers along the Holyhead Road/A5 from Shrewsbury survive, but the one 2 miles from the port has disappeared.
