I suspect that cis people behind the wall may be even slower to get this kind of news than you Westerners, after all, LGBTQ+ issues are taboo in themselves.
Then I went back behind the wall and saw an American transgender person introducing themselves on RedNote. Apart from a few typical anti-trans "normal people" comments, I remember someone kindly commenting: "Oh, I know, we have transgender people in China too, HIS name is Jin Xing!"
However, when this news was finally published by Western media and reposted on Bluesky, it only attracted hundreds of mocking comments from you Westerners, including from some well-known transgender KOLs.
