His appeal is denied. He will remain permanently banned on BlueSky’s side.

It appears unclear *why* he was banned. The general consensus is he responded to Jay about something and that got him a fast suspension. In an interesting repeat of the weirder post-Charlie Kirk bannings, he (it is claimed; there's a lot of hearsay going on) didn't get an email explaining this.

Blacksky has their own appview, but they import the default moderation labels (including bans) for now from Bluesky. They could implement a local override (or switch source of moderation labels) and then their users would be properly independent

This is why it's absurd for them to scream about federation, while holding all the centralized moderation cards
