I think my pick would be The Hokkaido Serial Murder Case remake. This game is only for weird ADV sickos but I think it is great little remake that does a surprisingly good job of making you feel nostalgic for the original even if you didn't grow up playing it.

๐ I don't collect many CDs, but I'm probably gonna have to get this for the liner notes.
Take notes, tourism boards. There is no more powerful tourism motivator than mystery ADVs. So if anyone would like to give me a million dollars to set a Detective Instinct sequel in YOUR city... ๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ฒ
Oh hi, I wrote about Paranormasight: The Mermaid's Curse, its intertextual references, the blend between detective genres in Japan, and gender! ๐งโโ๏ธ

Here's a little drawing I made of Emma in honor of our discount this month. I can confirm she's very fun to draw, you guys should try it sometime โ๏ธ
(alternatively I wouldn't mind seeing some golfer fanart ๐๏ธโโ๏ธ๐๏ธโโ๏ธ๐๏ธโโ๏ธ)
Detective Instinct is ON SALE! We'll be 20% off on Steam through the end of the Steam Spring Sale - so pretty much from now until March 26th! ๐ฎ
If you, like me, are yearning for another ADV experience post-Paranormasight, maybe you'd enjoy this? ๐๏ธ

Visual novels and Japanese adventure games. The two genres often look very similar, how are you supposed to tell them apart? Simple: if you can use a cursor to examine stuff, it's an ADV. If not, it's a VN.
I'm half joking but it's honestly a pretty reliable way to identify which genre is which.
I'm a big fan of Yumeko and Sodo, myself.
Unsurprisingly, I loved Paranormasight: The Mermaid's Curse. Great cast, and it uses its gameplay mechanics very tastefully to serve the story. Getting the true ending drove me insane, but it's up there with some of my favorite ADVs ๐ฎ Was inspired to try sketching Sato ๐ข
I think them being two British guys with inexplicably thick New York accents could only add to their aura, tbh.
When I went to Tokyo a few years ago, I spent a bit of time looking for locations from the first Paranormasight. Hopefully I'll be able to do the same with some spots from Mermaid's Curse someday!
Hearing you can embed Bandcamp links here now? What a good opportunity to share the Detective Instinct OST again ๐

This is what it feels like for me, a sort of inexplicable dead end, but I'm certain there's something I'm missing.
๐ญ
Starting to think I may go to the grave without figuring out what you're supposed to do for the true ending of Paranormasight: The Mermaid's Curse ๐
I like pretty much every era of Zelda for different reasons, but I think the run of Link's Awakening, Ocarina of Time, and Majora's Mask is pretty unbeatable. I think it was Koizumi's influence that gave those games a certain mysterious and emotional character that I really miss in the series.
After many years of trying on and off, I've fully committed myself to learning how to draw the past few months, and it's been so unbelievably fun and invigorating. Whatever Armonica makes next, I'm determined to be able to contribute more to the visuals ๐

If you're looking for another character-driven mystery adventure game after playing the new Paranormasight, this might be the game for you ๐๏ธ Links below:
I strongly recommend finding a way to play the original Another Code R on Wii if only so you can enjoy the truest representation of 2007 male fashion I've ever seen in a video game.
I did! It came out within the first year of Detective Instinct's development and I got it right away. Loved it, was incredibly inspiring.
This sounds so right up my alley it's actually crazy.
With the new Paranormasight releasing soon, I decided to make a small list of my favorite Japanese adventure games. I'm using the term "adventure game" loosely here, as some of these are more VNs than ADVs, but these are the titles that affirmed my love for this type of game and all its sub-genres.

Really enjoyed this review, which describes the appeal of command-select gameplay extremely well: "navigating these menus โ be it to investigate specific areas or most often to bring up certain topics in conversation that you collect like key items โ becomes a sort of social puzzle game."
