A little over three years of development comes down to just three days before release 😱

Switch 2 will run the same as Switch 1 at launch, so it won't support 1080p on Switch 2. We may explore further graphics options post-launch if we're able to, but having played it on both platforms I think the scaling looks nice regardless 😅

DQ7 definitely has some of that adventure game DNA to it, too, especially in its opening hours, and I suspect most of that will be gone in Reimagined. But the battle system will be really good and it's going to look and sound completely gorgeous, so I'm trying not to let that bother me too much 😅

I'm insane so I was pretty bummed how much DQ3 HD2D rewrote the script so mandatory NPCs tell you exactly what to do in cutscenes, haha. Turning off the quest markers wasn't enough for freaks like me who want to talk to every NPC in the game to piece together ideas for how to progress.

At this point I know I'm just going to play it with a scowl on my face every time I see a quest marker or notice any bit of narrative streamlining while secretly having an extremely great time deep down 😭

I think Ghost Trick is more similar to Famicom Detective Club in that way than it is even to Ace Attorney, tbh. I think people might vibe with FDC more if they thought of the command menu like the "tricks" in GT, vague verbs whose effect depends on the context of the moment.

Thinking about Ghost Trick. I love it for many of the same reasons I love command-select ADVs: context-sensitive puzzles, asking you to consider how the effects of the few things you're able to do can change depending on what's going on in a scene. Also Missile is my best friend.

Nintendo made a new Famicom Detective Club. Every Ace Attorney game is now in English. Another Code was revived, fueling desire for Kyle Hyde remakes.

People want ADV games, and we want to make them 👍 #gamedev #indiegame
