Quiet beginnings on open roads. Even with the uncertainty of the long journey, choose kindness. 🫶🏻

This week: #BeingWatched.
The look that lingers.
The sense of eyes before proof.
The body adjusting itself without knowing why.
Write the awareness.
The almost-seeing.
The way desire sharpens when it’s observed.
New theme opens Friday.
Don’t post early.

Not yet! But you will be the first to know!!!🤣🤣🤣
Thank you Ann! Love hearing feedback and perceptions! ❤️
Yeah for you!!! I thought of you the other day, "I am going to write a love poem and post it on BlueSky, see what Dave thinks!" 😄😆 The dark poet writing a love poem...😜
Dave, I shall call you here on #PoemsAbout "the Love Poet!" Another beautiful poem! I love the repetition of those extravagant lines and the musicality of some rhymes! Wonderful!

David, lovely Haiku about our instincts of extravagance!
Many thanks @thebrokenspine.co.uk @alanparrywriter.co.uk for today's #PoemsAbout prompt #Spent. Here's a brief off-the-cuff 'tribute' to someone we knew only too well in the UK. Apologies, I was feeling tetchy this morning....
Wow! This is a power hitter of a poem! In my opinion, Pushcart Prize winner! Favorite line (but there are so many I love!) "slashing the hush with a vocal knife!" Fabulous! Brilliant piece of writing!

Paul, such truth spoken is so few words...doing what poetry does best! Well done and powerfully true!
After a small break, here is my return piece for #PoemsAbout #Spent.

Will be catching up later/over weekend
Rachel, this is a well written poem using the metaphor of the toothpaste tube...love it! This poem reads as if you are squeezing out the words as you progress to the end! Well done!
To all those who never ever get to start the new toothpaste! 😊 #PoemsAbout #Spent
Thanks @alanparrywriter.co.uk @thebrokenspine.co.uk Happy Friday!
Ann, your poem takes the reader on a journey everyone knows so well or can relate to. It reads like a slow unfurling of understanding and forced acceptance. Well done!
#poemsabout #spent
Banjaxed: a common Irish slang term meaning something is broken, ruined, severely damaged, or beyond repair.
I love how your poem pulls the reader in with that first fabulous line, "attic sketches appear," dripping with mystery and a little macabre vibe. And I love the ending line, "where noted desires played!" I really like poetry that uses only the words necessary, nothing frivolous used. Well done!
attic sketches appear
unclaimed reels linger
as grey tinged captions
claim the passage
confounded and spent
my impulses proceed
through the fire and passion
stoking the burnt offerings
left scratching their way
through the ash and lust
where noted desires played

I love how the title is not just sitting there like a hat on top of the poem; it is part of the poem! It works quite nicely! ❤️
Strangely, don’t have much to say for #PoemsAbout #Spent

Jen, I also love #PoemsAbout day! 😀
I also love how your poem sets on the page, the three metaphors delineated with italics and set apart in a couplet, then expounded upon with a stanza. This would be a lovely poem to be read out loud at an Open Mic! Great use of imagery!
I love Fridays, or #PoemsAbout day as I now call them.
Here is my offering, and I look forward to seeing all of yours 😁

Andy, the repetition of words actually moves the reader along slowly, quietly, like walking down a staircase. And the repetition lends itself to the theme #spent quite effectively! Well done!❤️
Nice to be able to post a quick little poem for #poemsabout #spent after a bit of an enforced absence last week (bad cold). Thanks @alanparrywriter.co.uk / @thebrokenspine.co.uk for the prompt and to everyone contributing! #poems #poetry #writingcommunity #poetrycommunity #scottishpoetry
