Oh wow, back into drafting mode, after so long doing edits on book 1. Saying goodbye for now to that story is both scary and exhilarating! My work on it isn't done, I know, but now comes the waiting to see if I can get some representation for it.

In the meantime, I'm now 811 words into book 2.

Waiting for people to read your drafts is a special kind of torture. I would break immediately if my interrogater offered to read what I have so far and then was just like, really slow about it.

It's been like five minutes, so it's reasonable to check, right?

I wrote 7k today. Apparently what I need to write is not only a vacation, but a deadline. (By comparison I wrote less than 1k yesterday, lol)

One nice thing about being hard of hearing is I probably won't notice any ghosts if this cabin ends up being haunted

Gosh I hope this "writing retreat" experiment works, or it will have been a very expensive way to lay in bed and watch improv on my phone 😅

But now I'm feeling pretty cozy, so I think it's time to open up my laptop and do some writing.

Okay I spent the past several hours just rewatching dropout content in this new bed in this little cabin. I've never stayed in a lil house like this by myself! Even hotel rooms - I'm usually splitting the cost with someone at the very least.

This happens in my car and I don't understand how or why. It goes from "recently cleaned out" to "okay but why is this even in here" so quickly

I love ASL at the Ren Faire! It almost always turns into a game of "what's the bawdiest word or phrase we can get the interpreter to sign" and they have so much fun with it!

She had 3 kittens. The boy kitty now lives with some in-laws, and we still have momma cat and the two girls.

These are in fact two different cats. The one on the left is momma cat. We found her wandering around and whining outside our apartment 12ish years ago. Lured her in with some cold cuts, and she was days away from giving birth!
