Lessons for the U.S. in 'Chinaโ€™s quest to engineer the future' How can a lawyerly society and an engineering society learn from each other? And whatโ€™s at stake if they fail? Author Dan Wang set out to answer those questions about the U.S. and China.

Only 7% of members of the US Congress have a STEM degree. More than 40% are lawyers.
Engineers no longer dominate Chinaโ€™s top leadership as they once did but they still account for 33% of the politburo - including Xi Jinping who has a degree in chemical engineering.

For medieval people, the Moon was both a riddle and a blessing As a symbol, the Moon did not have an easily decipherable meaning โ€“ which encouraged medieval people to read it in playful ways.

The word Monday comes from the Old English term Mลnandรฆgย which means โ€˜Moonโ€™s Dayโ€™. In Latin, this day was calledย dies Lลซnae, which has been transformed into modern French as lundi, in Italian asย lunedรฌ and in Spanish as lunes.

Is space worth the cost? Accounting experts say its value canโ€™t be found in spreadsheets To understand what makes space exploration worthwhile, we need to look beyond rigid costโ€“benefit analysis.

Space exploration summons deeper values.
โ€˜Governmentsโ€™ job is not just to convince the public that space investment is worth it. This job is to make sure the result actually is worth it, in a way that reflects collective prioritiesโ€™
