I totally get why it will never be adapted and I respect King for pulling it from publication after school shootings became a thing. But I remember reading it in high school and I was affected by it.

I thought the vote was on a resolution (which does not carry force of law)? So I'm not sure it's accurate to say they "voted to overturn" the tariffs; it was more like they voted to say they think the tariffs should be overturned. Happy to be corrected if this isn't accurate.

This is happening in the US now, and instead of these deaths being an impetus for change, abortion opponents cheer them.

For people who are so hung up on making sure immigrants come into this country "the right way," they sure do a lousy job deporting them "the right way."

One way to control the way the message hits the ears of voters is to actually have a clear message of our own, versus constantly pivoting away from so-called "difficult" topics and thus allowing the opposition to fill the void.

I'm not sure what you're advocating for here. I'm reluctant to shit on anyone who's doing what they can simply because they're not doing "enough."

I think the premium increase notices are starting to go out and should hit everyone by 11/1. That's why Republicans are so desperate to get the so-called "clean" CR passed now - so they can force Dems to shoulder some of the blame.
