More than anything, they need to be in a position to employ doctors. It’s extraordinary that we have unemployed doctors at a time like this..

With the abolition of NHSEngland, the #NHS is again at the top of the political agenda. If you really want to understand the challenges and opportunities, can I recommend my book: “Side Effects- How our healthcare lost its way, and how we fix it”. The Observer thought it was brilliant. I won’t argue

The brave little boy having one of the first polio vaccines is me. At school I recall two pupils who had leg calipers because of #polio caught before they could be vaccinated and there even was an iron lung for emergency use. #Vaccination saves lives

I find AI vs clinician studies very preliminary but also as furthering the need for > investment in clinician competence and wellbeing. And yet > $$ go to AI. I call this The Big Yellow Taxi (…paved paradise to put up a parking lot 🎶) Paradox. Remember: Only people can care. @patientrevolution.org

editorial from @bmj.com and paper: Poor staff retention is associated with higher patient mortality. Have said it before & I’ll say it again. If you don’t care for the carers, they cannot care for their patients.

In the week that MPs vote on assisted dying, please - please - can we all agree & act on the fact that the time to end the woeful underfunding of NHS palliative care is now?

If we truly cared about dying people, we wouldn’t neglect their final days.

Over to you, @rthonwesstreeting.bsky.social

Hello everyone 👋 Bluesky has grown quickly over the last few days so we wanted to say hello from all of us who support children and young people with cancer, and their families. Please share this thread with anyone who might find it useful. 1/4

I’m not going to leave X just yet - I hate that sense of being driven away from a place I used to love. But after one day on here, I already know how much prefer it.

So if you see this and would be kind enough to share it to let people find me, that would be hugely appreciated. Thank you.
