Way too many Jalens in the NBA

This is going to sound like me being a hater. Not the intention.
IMO, the baseball industry is oversaturated with data-viz.
Again, imo, it’s deeply compromising thorough, well researched player analysis.
O’ course! Takes longer than it should from downtown, but not as long as it could—and would, to go the same distance in the Twin Cities.

I’ve been riding Phoenix’s public transit (light rail and buses; it’s a solid 55 by American standards) for the last week-plus and my two takeaways are:
1. There’s a really neat culture of always thanking your driver as you debus. Love it.
2. For some reason, they’re really worried we’re gonna be
I know it’s hard to feel optimistic in this moment but I’m trying to keep believing that this will be played in a courtroom in Holland someday. I mean he’s admitting it.
04.03.2026 23:45 — 👍 19 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0The multiple senses of the phrase 'last champion' make this a little bit unintentionally funny. Because (alas!) there are a LOT of people left who champion Notre Dame.
04.03.2026 21:49 — 👍 3 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Josiah Hartshorn is in right field for #Cubs right now. He's just 19, taken out of high school last summer. Third spring appearance will (presumably) be his longest exposure yet to something like big-league ball.
04.03.2026 21:47 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0#Brewers' Brandon Sproat said he's slightly tweaked the grip on his curveball, holding it deeper in his hand this spring. That's allowed him to "get on top of it more," and he's hoping it means less of a pop out of the hand. Velocity on the pitch is up 2-3 MPH this spring vs. last year with #Mets.
04.03.2026 21:44 — 👍 5 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0#Cubs Jefferson Rojas continues a REALLY impressive spring with a no-fluke homer off #Brewers' Logan Henderson. Between Jaxon Wiggins and Rojas, Cubs are having a good day, even beyond the scoreboard (on which it's 4-1).

04.03.2026 20:41 — 👍 3 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0In his auditions at catcher this spring, #Cubs’ Moisés Ballesteros might almost be working against himself. If he looks playable behind the plate, he could unexpectedly end up back in Triple A, to complete his development at that pivotal position.
04.03.2026 20:39 — 👍 6 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Brandon Sproat's cutter continues to be filthy, and he mowed down the #Cubs in the top of the first here in Maryvale.

Has been at second base for all four starts this spring; bat well ahead of glove.

Czech firefighter Martin Schneider lives two lives. He's had to play hero in both of them.

03.03.2026 22:16 — 👍 13 🔁 0 💬 3 📌 1Kyle Harrison's pitch chart in his first inning of work on Mar. 3. His changeup depth is curveball-caliber.
Kyle Harrison's kick change is superfreak stuff today. The depth on that thing is.... I mean.....
(Also he touched 96.8 MPH with the fastball)
People who misunderstand lake metaphors are lit’rally the worst.
03.03.2026 13:32 — 👍 6 🔁 1 💬 1 📌 0It's March 3. We needn't jump to any conclusions yet. But Jared Koenig's velocity has been down all spring, and he's gotten hit hard all spring. #Brewers might end up wanting that fourth left-handed spot in the bullpen for a righty.
