Why do I hate One Battle After Another so much? Because I’m so tired a shallow understandings of Black resistance and even more tired of movies that act like all Black folks do is think with their genitalia.

Honestly, OBAO was a good film by Hollywood’s standards. Extremely well acted, beautifully shot, inventive writing. Entertaining, sure. But it didn’t *mean* anything. It was not culturally significant. It’s not anywhere in the same league as Sinners in terms of its historic and cultural impact.
So happy for Autumn Arkapaw! She’s so talented.
A quick fact: Ryan Coogler has only ever worked with female cinematographers. His team represents the best of us.
Time to remind folks again.
Let's have more directors put bigger budgets, bigger concepts and faith in female cinematographers.

I met with AI data labelers in Kenya who are organizing their colleagues to fight the brutal working conditions and horrible pay given to the workers at the "bottom of the AI supply chain." They believe the NDAs they've signed are unenforceable so are speaking out:

I have said this many times but Harriet Tubman was against capitalist systems that require human exploitation to operate and would definitely not want to be commemorated on US currency alongside people who brutally enslaved her and her people.
Let there be as much outrage from politicians in Washington when kids go hungry as there is when I break bread with New Yorkers.

The thing about manually taking 50+ research papers and turning them into a thesis chapter is that you, the human being writing the chapter, actually absorbed some of the information about the papers and incorporated it into your own analysis.

The problem affects Codex Cloud Environments in ChatGPT Edu and exposes the names and some metadata associated with the public and private GitHub repositories that users within a university have connected to their ChatGPT Edu accounts. Thanks @stokel.bsky.social for writing about this issue today.
Glad to see this made public today. I responsibly disclosed with OpenAI that high-level information about the private work of students and staff using ChatGPT Edu at several universities can be viewed by thousands of colleagues across their institutions. No fixes were issued after one month.
