A spindly thing, long forgotten, crouches in an old refrigerator. It is grinning and has much too many limbs and teeth. it's eyes are the bruised blue bulbous orbs of a baby bird.
This time, when Tristan grasped the latch and pulled, the door swung wide, and then fell off its hinges into the dirt. It felt like the old fridge had been waiting for just that moment.
The thing crouched inside grinned into the light and slowly untangled itself to stand.
