im seeing more and more ai generated images being reposted in earnest by people who cant tell that theyre ai and that scares the shit out of me. its only gonna get worse

also, people are complaining about the annoying sidekick in prime 4 but theres another trooper you meet in the ice level who has some of the worst voice acting ive ever heard in a game. feels like they accidentally used a very rough first take on par with resident evil 1

am i the only one who has always found metroid prime's "scan" feature really boring? locking 100% completion behind having to stop the game every 30 seconds to scan shit sucks. like, whatever i can just watch the secret ending online, but its bad design.

i gotta stop looking at the homestuck subreddit, the occasional great fanart isnt worth seeing a hundred "the epilogues were so bad and out of character" posts made by people too young to be reading it

One factor I come back to is the way in which game storefronts have a de facto monopoly over games distribution. For sure you can still buy the game elsewhere, but margins are very thin for indie devs, so deplatforming them means devs will avoid making similar games, and our media is worse for that.
