Brandon Sanderson has written more than 50 books in his career to date, but none quite like the short fiction collection Tailored Realities. Our spoiler-free review:

With Stranger Things 5 upon us, it's a good time to look back on one of the biggest (and most confusing) twists of season 4: the relationship between Vecna and the Mind Flayer.
Let's break it all down:
Did you read my post from last week about how contract woes caused me to withdraw an accepted story from F&SF, ending my 54-year quest to be published in that magazine? But wait (as the saying goes) β there's more! Scroll down at the link for an update. www.scottedelman.com/wordpress/20...
18.11.2025 12:42 β π 449 π 169 π¬ 42 π 51Good morning and happy weekend, Womble! I'm currently reading Brandon Sanderson's new short fiction anthology Tailored Realities. It's been a fun look back at his career and way more sci-fi-leaning than I expected.
16.11.2025 13:00 β π 5 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0The final season of Stranger Things is almost here, and all it's biggest revelations will be revealed. Here are five big questions we need answers to before we say goodbye to Hawkins.
15.11.2025 17:01 β π 5 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0That said, Season 3 didn't get quite the promotional push/support it should have imo. People who loved the show or books knew about it and watched, but there were a lot of casual fans who didn't even realize S3 came out until way after the fact. So kind of in the upper middle of the pack I guess?
15.11.2025 01:33 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thanks for reading! I think His Dark Materials definitely counts as another winner of this era because it got to come in, tell its full story, and get out before the inevitable decline. I had honestly given up hope of ever seeing The Subtle Knife or The Amber Spyglass adapted, and it's a gift we did
15.11.2025 01:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Did some reflecting today on #TheWitcher and the current state of fantasy TV:
15.11.2025 00:24 β π 6 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0Brandon Sanderson's Dragonsteel Books is running a little behind on their upcoming leatherbound edition of The Eye of the World, but it's all in the name of quality.
15.11.2025 00:14 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Can confirm, I did say this, over on Threads. I stand by it here as well. And everywhere else!
14.11.2025 20:27 β π 3112 π 452 π¬ 37 π 14I had the honor of making this painting for Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein.
13.11.2025 17:35 β π 14554 π 3096 π¬ 167 π 46I hate what the new ownership has done to Asimov's, Analog, and F&SF. Important venues and parts of SFF history strangled by greed.
Please read Scott's missive here.
I feel like having a baby may be the thing that finally turns me into an ereader person
12.11.2025 22:50 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Adrian Tchaikovsky's acclaimed sci-fi series The Final Architecture is getting a graphic novel prequel, and Whovians may recognize the face of its clone soldiers, the Partheni.
12.11.2025 15:43 β π 84 π 28 π¬ 1 π 5It's a lot of fun, enjoy! The general word is that it was originally *supposed* to be a miniseries spinoff that dropped before s4 (it was filmed first), but the shoot went sideways badly and was cut short by like 4 months, and it was repurposed into the current special.
12.11.2025 03:58 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Which is its own problem I guess, if you need a special to make the choice make more sense
12.11.2025 02:29 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Have you watched The Rats special yet? I hated that they went after Leo, (and totally agree still, ass-backwards to the tension they had been building all season), but The Rats special made it *a little* better.
12.11.2025 02:29 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0This November we're thankful...for books! Here are 12 new fantasy and sci-fi titles hitting shelves this month to add to your TBR.
