By the time I got to Toronto, I became very exhausted from a red-eye flight from Vancouver and also a long trip to three different countries in three different continents!

There is a reason why I went to Toronto a night before I head back to London. I wanted to visit the University of Toronto and the Music Library and pleased to meet Jan Guise, Head Liberian of the Music Library. She has showed me around the library.

I look forward to IAML Congress 2027 there!

I never tried WestJet while I was living in Canada. But I liked it. Will use that again.

This was in Premium Class.

Very pleased to present my Britten paper at the AMS PNW at the UVic School of Music, especially as a UVic Alumni.

Immediately after this I headed to Vancouver for my evening flight to Toronto, ON.

The iconic Butchart Gardens. Normal admission fee is around $50 but me and three of my friends got in for free because my friend works there.

And the music books on literature and theory. On the first floor of the UVic Main Library. Books are sorted by the LC call numbers.

Music Score section of the UVic Main Library. This one is on the first floor - at the back of the building. Lots of good collections and I missed it here.

There was a desk I had to ask for the CDs and LPs to borrow. Not anymore.

Sydney πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί in September 2023 vs. April 2025. Yea.. they had heatwave too. Almost 30 degrees. Had to take my summer clothes out from my suitcases again....

A complete different weather in Canberra, ACT. This was the most productive time throughout my ten-day there after Perth. Most of Smalley's archival items and manuscripts are at the NLA.

And I did passed out one of the day even with A/C was fully running but this was because of very strong UV light coming into my Airbnb in South Perth.

Here I am back in Perth, Western Australia πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί around mid-March 2025 where I spent ten days to get started with documenting Anglo-Aussie contemporary composer Roger Smalley (1943-2015). It was 40 degrees and had extreme heat wave - apparently was the hottest city in Australia.
