the design of this level is extremely dry. its a linear path of enforced speedrun tech done in rapid succession with little to no thematic or mechanical cohesion, say for the onslaught of dream hypers throughout the level. the miscellaneous paintings strewn about the walls similarly carry little cohesion between each other, the only point of commonality i can think of being their high status from what i can tell using the little knowledge i have about the celeste community, this is a SEETHING response to the culture that has formed within it. they have become so deeply fixated on signaling high quality to their audience that they prioritize impressive visuals and impressive executions over actually interesting level design, all the while huffing their own farts about the levels likeness to that of high art without actually understanding what made that art worthwhile this all culminates in the last screen of the level: one giant room filled with nothing but dream blocks and crystals, where you do nothing but hit the same dream hyper over and over for so long that by the time you reach the end, it doesnt feel at all special anymore. you can almost hear the author saying "this is what the game is now"

additional notes: almost every single wall, ceiling and floor in the level is lined with spikes, but one strange detail you might notice is that these walls and ceilings will occasionally have little gaps in them that are also lined with spikes, even though theres no reason to go that way. i think its supposed to be a setup for the brief glimpse you get at an *entire* separate room thats just top-to-bottom filled with spikes. you never go in there another strange detail is the total lack of spike tech. the author of this work seems to throw everything in the book at you, but, in terms of spike tech, theres, like, maybe one spike jump. or, whatever the hell that one thing was. theres this one part in the video where it looks like the player has to corner jump off a spike block, but it turns out they can clear it just fine by dashing forward. i feel like this was on purpose
