I just created a quick map depicting which portions of the United States are now (as of today) or will imminently be (by early June) without 24/7 local National Weather Service coverage (per Washington Post reporting). #CAwx #CAfire #CAwater #ORwx #AKwx #WYwx #KSwx
The only snow left in Fargo is the snow in piles, and the snow in the shade.
How much snow is left in your yard?

😎 From the 50s and 60s yesterday...
🥶 to the single digits this morning.
🙃 Welcome to March!
We have another warm and breezy day through the region, as a few spots will look to get their first 60° day of the spring. Tomorrow looks even windier, and we're keeping an eye on elevated fire conditions for much of the Dakotas as the wind ramps up. #ndwx #mnwx
Today I documented the first EVER February tornado in South Dakota HISTORY! 🌪️
📍 Watertown, South Dakota
🗓️ February 24, 2025
Light winds have led to patchy fog this morning. With temperatures in the teens and 20s, a few slick spots will be possible with the fog. Today we continue to warm up with cloudy skies, and a few fickle weak waves will bring in spotty shower chances through the start of the week. #ndwx #mnwx
According to Prism climate data, Maine and parts of California were significantly warmer than normal this January.
Snow is on the way this weekend...
I'm timing it out on WDAY News at 4!
Have you noticed the lack of snow?
#ndwx
40° in Fargo!
#ndwx
An unofficial 40° at the Grand Forks airport!
First 40° in Grand Forks since December 7.

Who's ready for a windy but warm day?
Snow in the south!
Most of the snow should melt in the next few days.
Over a 3-day stretch below zero. From 2am early Saturday morning to roughly noon today.
#ndwx
Today's high temperature in Fargo?
-15°
Coldest high since January, 30 2019
#ndwx
🥶 -42° near Voyageurs national park this morning!
🥶 Coldest temp in the U.S., and so far, the coldest temperature in the lower 48 this winter.

All of these alerts are cold-weather related... talk about an arctic blast!
With the bitter cold this weekend, here's a friendly reminder of how quickly frostbite can occur.

Snow can make a windy day like today so much worse...
Langdon has 8-12" of snow on the ground, and there is a blizzard!
Fergus Falls has little to no snow, and it's just a windy day.
A blizzard warning has now been issued for the far north. Visibility is less than a quarter mile and travel is near impossible.
A high wind warning has also been issued. This is for blowing snow and wind gusts near 60 mph.
#ndwx #mnwx
Enjoy the warm January day today, because it's not going to be here for long.
Travel impacts are likely tomorrow with the strong NW wind bringing in colder air and light snow.
#ndwx
Anybody wearing shorts in Grand Forks??
The atmosphere has "mixed" out and is bringing the warm temperatures with it!
#ndwx
Graupel from earlier today.
Super, super strong inversion this AM for Fargo. This is a model sounding from the HRRR.

Today's weather is a great mood booster.
Good news is, we have another day like it tomorrow! (with less wind!!)
#ndwx
Some cities in the south have MORE snow than we do in North Dakota!

🤔 Would you rather....
🥶 have a cold day like today...
🥵 or a hot and humid day?
It is a slippery and blustery morning through the region. Winds have begun to pick up out of the northwest, and today even though snow will taper off this morning, blowing snow & low visibility will continue, with temperatures gradually falling through the day. #ndwx #mnwx
Weekend storm update:
Not a lot of snow, but enough to cause trouble!
