I appreciate that you are asking the question about power. It seems like they both confessed to doing shady stuff so I think that’s why a lot of people are saying “they both suck.” I don’t see it as him getting the benefit of the doubt - they’re both writing themselves as the hero of the story.

I think people are conflating revenge porn with privacy violation. I don’t know if he violated her privacy (she seems to think so) but that isn’t the same as revenge porn.

I don’t see it as kicking her when she’s down. He didn’t know the reviews and sales of her book would be so bad and she got a fawning piece in the NYT.

I feel like this is a question of motivation (why did he write what he wrote). I can guess but I don’t know for sure and also, I don’t think that’s an important question (at least not to me).

An issue I have with him potentially is that it sounds like he had info about RFK Jr that might have harmed his efforts to become HHS secretary if it had become public. Maybe it wouldn’t have made a difference but maybe it would have. They all suck.
