HMCS Nanimo, a corvette of the Canadian Navy, is moored in downtown Portland, Oregon in June 2025 for the Rose Festival and Fleet Week.

Portland Rose Festival this week. That means Fleet Week. I stopped by to see the ships. I toured the USS Jack H. Lucas, the US Navy's newest destroyer. Pictured are the USS Jack H. Lucas (DDG 125), USS Mustin (DDG 89), and HMCS Nanaimo (K101) a Flower class Corvette of the Canadian Navy.

If you hadn't told me you were 25, I'd have guessed 20 or 21! LOL

Many of my favorite hikes are through local cemeteries. They often have a far more welcoming feel than the local parks which are often filled with the unhomed. I usually have the entire "park" to myself and have often seen coyotes, deer, eagles, and other wildlife on those very relaxing walks.
