[after quoting the majority opinion] β€œScore one for self-confidence; maybe not so high for self-reflection or -knowledge.”

Examples useful because β€œ[w]hen choosing whether to send some class of questions mainly to a court, or mainly to an agency, abstract analysis can only go so far”

Truly, bc as I was reading I’m like…what kind of questions.

What is a β€œquestion of law”

Part of what makes her writing so great is that she writes in plain language. Her opinions are just more readable, including to people who never study law. I feel there’s some correlation between that and being a good tipper. Something about not having an inflated view of herself within society.

Then she goes into actual examples of Chevron questions and as a law student THANK YOU ELENA for proving actual examples of what you mean!

This is significant if you’re old enough to know conservatives are always complaining about β€œjudicial activism”

She’s hitting them HARD with their own argument

(TLDR a guy actually tried to purchase a jet with Pepsi points and sued when Pepsi refused. He lost)

There are plenty of cases that come up in law school with that I remember but my classmates don’t. Like there’s a famous contracts case about the old Pepsi Points commercial that showed a guy buying a Lear jet with Pepsi Points and I remember that commercial. Another case is about Anna Nicole Smith

Admin Law prof explaining US v. Mead: β€œhave you guys ever heard of paper planners? Like a calendar for planning that isn’t on your phone?” and my 41-year-old ass sitting there with my school planner in front of me while half the class looks confused πŸ‘΅πŸΌ

I wonder if the β€œcool basil” prototype is why everywhere I’ve lived has had a β€œBasil Thai” or a β€œBasil Kitchen” or a β€œBasil Canteen”

Bodily autonomy ends where it affects other people! Their definition of bodily autonomy means an immunocompromised kid doesn’t get to go to school. Anti-vaxxers aren’t in a bubble, the entire reason there is debate is because they put entire communities at risk

I wonder if there's a connection between the lack of any stupid rules of engagement and the US/Israeli missile strikes that killed eighty or ninety schoolchildren 36 hours ago.

One could say it 100% accords with what advocacy groups want - namely right wing groups who want trans people to stop existing
