Reminds me of this killer CIA manual on how to subvert an organization by being annoying and incompetent: https://www.openculture.com/2022/01/read-the-cias-simple-sabotage-field-manual.html

We need more invites, Jay! There’s not enough life rafts and the ship is sinking fast

Long shot: has anyone ever heard of the Museum of Modern Renaissance in Somerville, MA?

Went this weekend. Absolutely blew my mind. Such a cool place.

My favorite genre of book is audiobook memoirs read-by-author. I especially like it if they’re not salesy & tell their journey like it’s been, including hard parts, embarrassing stuff, whatever happened. All life paths are great (fame not necessary).

Does anyone have recommendations for me?

I feel like it’s under-discussed how different different parts of country feel rn

It feels like the utility that provides authentication is going to be absolutely critical. Not just AI, but impersonation in general… very easy to create accounts for big twitter accts and replicate their content over here for example

Hahaha - yes this is exactly how I feel

Really?! Oh that’s awesome I will try it. I had no idea. I always just felt that Twitter could be totally different if you could have a different angle like that. Sometimes you might not care what’s most current but instead what are the all-time best tweets from a place

My cat also loves it. Very exciting morning for her

It’s finally warm enough in Boston to have the windows open, and listening to the birds get steadily louder this morning as I’ve had my coffee has been absolutely blissful. Truly feels like Spring

I’d like to be able to see my own past likes. I use it as a bookmark

Also… it would be really funny if something seeded by twitter in the pre-Elon times becomes it’s downfall now. I have always loved twitter but do feel really jerked around recently. The experience has degraded so much. I would pay to fix, but they are selling the “wrong” things vs what I care about

Agree. And unlike mastodon, the initial experience is actually great / totally pleasant. It just needs the network to move and feels like it’s an enormous trade-up for users

It would just add a totally different dimension to the graph and potentially be a really cool way to explore the world. Every post has potentially a very different dimension if you know where it was made.

Or I’m in a college coffee shop and I want to see the all time most popular posts from this spot (irrespective of time), but you have to have been near that spot to show up in the filter

What if there was a version of the timeline where “place” was weighted more heavily than time (or alongside it). Obv you’d have to have location turned on. But imagine I’m watching live sports and I want to only see posts from people at the stadium…

Also, an idea I’ve had for a long time that maybe someone can make happen. Okay, so twitter posts/algo works off three major dimensions: 1) time; 2) content; 3) network of ppl (follows, etc). Of those, time especially is super important (you only see recent stuff)…

I think more than anything, this post is why I hope bluesky / the “AT protocol” wins: https://blueskyweb.xyz/blog/3-30-2023-algorithmic-choice

It is beyond frustrating to have no way to tweak the twitter algo. It really feels like you should be able to select preferences for it (at least if paid)

We all want more invites Jay :) although I’m torn because the vibes are good here rn. The timeline is so warm and happy!

No random ads on the timeline is truly blissful though

How do we find good follows on here? The suggested ones seem sort of random.
