Oldie but goodie, and still very apt. HAPPY FRIDAY!

Hello all, my story "Enselfening" is now live in the new issue of The Dark!
I am finding it impossible to come up with a pithy sales pitch for it, apart from saying it's quite weird and I'm proud of it and hope you'll read it ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™

It's October! Hurrah!

I've specially curated 5 of our spookier titles, and discounted the eBooks to just $2. Grab a couple, or all 5 for $10. It's your choice.

And here is that very copy of All the Devils Are Here (yes I look after my books, because they are my friends). Twenty years and counting! Anyway Iโ€™m very proud to have played a part in giving new life to this particular old book. Loved revisiting it on the new @backlisted.bsky.social.

I read this book last year and it became an instant favourite. If you're looking for non-fiction that feels grubby, liminal and haunted, then this is the book for you. In the first Backlisted ep Rachel Cooke describes Seabrook as someone you feel both afraid of and for. That's really stuck with me.

Warms my frosty heart to be part of this. 27 gloriously snackable stories! Out now for nine quid! For The Wildlife Trusts! Even if you hate my story, you can't possibly hate all 27 AND animals AND the concept of charity!

I, personally, think it's very concerning to be attacking someone online for exploring ideas through fiction at a time when everyone is being encouraged to funnel their creativity through generative AI instead. I think it's bad to try to punish people for making art you don't like!
