Thank you - always a bit nerve wracking chopping up beloved fabric. But it must be done! ✂️

Me too - didn't know that there was actually a recruitment drive with incentives and a support scheme.

3 different fabrics from Tilda's Chic Escape range, the main one has a green background with a teal coloured stylised peacock - tail folded down surrounded by pink peony flowers. A second grey fabric has ginger jars with pink motifs and the 3rd fabric is a yellow background with pink roses and white babies breath. There is a transparent, perspex ruler with inch markers on the left - with the green fabric showing through. And a lime green rotary cutter on the right, with the blade showing - implying cutting is about to begin.

Cutting into some of my most favourite fabric... 😳

Dubai Influencers vs Iran YouTube video by The Rest Is Entertainment

The Rest Is Entertainment has a good podcast on this, calling out the state support - socialism - they accept, and the work they have to do for a repressive regime:

Embarrassed to say that this really hadn't occurred to me, but I think it's spot on.

A video of me quilting ‘Paperbirds’. Principally to practice my video editing skills.
‘Scuse my tatty quilting gloves, shakey camera work and shonky lighting - I’m still figuring out my angles, dharling…

Thanks Zandra. The teal one is a ¼” too big 🙄. So into the 'do something different with it' pile.

One of two patchwork bird blocks - this one in a combination of teal greens with an orange beak - designed to mimic origami paper birds hung on strings. Two of two patchwork bird blocks - this one in a combination of ochre yellows and browns with an orange beak - designed to mimic origami paper birds hung on strings.

Two down, 40 to go. But the clock is ticking and Christmas Eve is my deadline. Eek!

Gender & the Great War – The myth of the ‘superfluous woman’ | The Blog of Emma Jolly

I kinda thought that the idea of battalions (!) of single women after WWI had, largely, been debunked?

You must be only moments away from The Reply Guys bundling in, saying you could easily afford big game taxidermy if only you didn't buy branded washing up liquid

I use a Quilters Dream bamboo blend wadding by choice and love it. Have used 100% wool, 100% cotton and cotton/poly blends and I don't think I've ever noticed any great difference in how they sew. Love the drape of the bamboo.

a cartoon rabbit is standing next to a barbed wire fence in a field covered in blood . Alt: Fiver, from the animated Watership Down film, in one of his hallucinatory, psychic trances, stands next to a barbed wire fence and 'sees' a field covered in blood .

Childhood trauma incoming: Watership Down...

A screen shot capturing Benjamin's post about loogies and another post that has the following image:

A close-up, side profile shot of a brown horse with its eyes closed and mouth wide open, revealing its teeth and tongue. There's a black horse in the background and the angle of the photo makes it look like the brown horse has another horses nose and mouth coming out of its mouth. The horses are standing in a grassy field with trees in the background under a blue sky.

Bluesky being serendipitous with horse loogies:

A patchwork quilt representing a floral circular wreath - rendered geometrically - with flowers in peach, dark teal, lighter blue on white and turquoise and peach on black and turquoise and peach on white. All on a lighter duck egg blue background. The same quilt but from further away, hanging on a chain link fence in a light industrial setting - two one storey buildings either side made out of yellow London Stock brick, with bars on their windows. A tree in full spring leaf in the background and a bright blue may sky above. The same quilt close up. Showing the quilting pattern which is a series of ever decreasing offset squares which gives the illusion of curves as they spiral onwards. An even closer shot of the dead centre of the quilt - where, only about 2cm high, the number 50 has been used as quilting lines. The thread used is a similar colour to the duck egg blue background so the effect is subtle, almost hidden.

Jo's Posey

A gift for a friend for a landmark birthday

Second time out for this pattern by #RobinPickens using fabric from my stash. But larger this time - about 48" square.

And I've included a secret message in the quilting.

Next 5 of a 100 block sampler - designed by #AliceCaroline - using #RobinPickens fabrics from my stash rather than the suggested Liberty lawns.

Was planning on doing 2 a week, but 14 weeks into the year I'm at 9/100... 🤨... Need to up my planning skills!

I absolutely know what you mean @susiehq.bsky.social but sometimes fabric has to become working cloth. And it will change over time, and that will tell a story. And then one day it will return to the earth. And that is good and how it should be. So a wine stain? So be it. 🦦
