This song was inspired by the moonlight shimmering off the snow-covered ground about seven years ago. I created the song that night, and I still enjoy how it sounds "cold" to me.

The main reason I'm not a downhill skier is that I've never found myself atop a large mountain with manicured slopes and a need to quickly reach the bottom.

#TimNeumarkSongOfTheWeek is "Ice". Seems like a fitting track to share since I keep seeing Curling highlights!
Ice was composed while I was on a cruise ship in and near Alaska.
My upcoming solo piano arrangement may be the longest in-development piece I've ever worked on. I've been referencing the original score for orchestra to arrange this; I noticed that I saved that score in March 2011!
So I've been thinking about this piece for 15 years. Wow!

The song is "Little Renée", titled for my first daughter. The 10/8 time signature comes from the five letters in the word "Renee", substituting AB for RN to get AEBEE.

I've been arranging a work for solo piano that is just gorgeous. I've thought about arranging this for years, but I didn't think it could be done effectively.
