I hate this so much. In game dev people are often so focused on pie in the sky bullshit that they can't traverse reality to get there. It's so often assumed that the intermediary steps have no impact on the end goal.

One of the biggest things I've struggled with at work is that even stuff that looks direct with peoples' communication has a million unsaid meanings that are often nonsense relative to a literal interpretation.

I haven't even been diagnosed with autism yet, but I'm more sure by the minute.

They focus on engagement without paying mind to satisfaction or fulfilment.

Removing the monetization aspect of gambling / corrosive F2P mechanics / etc doesn't actually address the harm those types of games do, and the resultant "dopamine games" being the default engagement of choice for wide swaths of the populace is a condemnation of our way of life
