California Uber and Lyft drivers closer to being able to unionize after crucial vote A California bill allowing Lyft and Uber drivers to unionize was approved this week after it was tied to an insurance bill that benefits both companies.

California’s rideshare drivers are very close to unionization—around 800,000 drivers will get the legal right to bargain for better pay, healthcare, and protections thanks to AB 1340. Let’s make sure this law delivers.

Lake IHSS providers like Nicole need a strong contract not just for themselves, but their families. Working long hours providing an essential service for Lake’s seniors and people with disabilities, IHSS providers shouldn’t miss out on family just to meet their basic needs.

Lake IHSS providers like Lesia face enormous financial struggles. A recent poll found that 65% of Lake’s IHSS workers have difficulty paying their rent or mortgage, and more than half experience food insecurity. This is no way for essential care providers to have to live.
