Fellow UC professors, what can we do to advocate for the NSF postdoc fellows (and potentially additional fellows next) who cannot withdraw their paychecks?

Contact the UC Federal Relations lawyers?

To update people on the NSF PRFB situation: despite the court challenge and rescinding the original memo, the NSF has continued to comply with the executive order. They have not communicated with us at all and our paychecks are still canceled indefinitely. I know people who cannot pay their rent.

National Science Foundation freezes grant review in response to Trump executive orders The National Science Foundation has cancelled all grant review panels this week. It's unclear how long the pause could last.

The National Science Foundation cancelled over 60 grant review panels today, effectively grinding funding of new projects to a halt.

The so-far indefinite pause comes as NSF grapples with the impact Trump's executive orders will have on their grantmaking process.

Lessons Australia can learn from California's success with a tiny bug that's killing Perth's trees A decade before shot-hole borer entered Australia, the invasive beetle was tearing through avocado crops in California. Now, the US state has the pest under control. What can WA take from its success?
