i have not read anything in a good minute and it feels like i’ve lost my writing chops bc tell me why it took so long for me to cough up 500 words of #nzab i need to hit the books again

also i have so many wips sitting in my drafts but i've been so busy recently i haven't managed to clean them up...

apparently i've forgotten to scream about this:

has anybody realized that in my oubing fics, ao bing refers to nezha as 'love' and nezha refers to ao bing as 'beloved' because this is so very dear to me

also funny story: in my research there's a specific writer who wrote a little scene of nezha and I wasn't planning to add this work in bc I didn't have time left but in the FINAL draft a week before I was supposed to submit my defence copy my supervisor went 'i think it would be good if you could

wouldn't be an 'oomph'/punch to the gut feeling to it. practical tip: you have to start reading your own stories obsessively and think about your own writing habits (heaven knows how many times i reread dtass/tff lol) and what effect u want to have that was/was not brought across.

tldr there really isn't a one-size-fits-all/formulaic way of constructing narratives, it gets easier when you get used to your own writing style + think through what you're trying to express as well as the themes/titles/metaphors/symbols you're going to use in the specific story, otherwise there

investiture. the turning back of time reverses the exit wound, pulls the bullet out of the body. hence huagai disappears, bing-er disappears, ao bing comes back.
- things literally 'go back to how it was'/'how it was supposed to be'.

entrance wound, disappears from the narrative entirely, yet he needs to come back at the end of the story.
- and now we 'fold' time back. huagai brings the reader through the 'wound' and shows you nezha's hurt, but when ao bing comes back at the last chapter, he reverses time and dials it back to

- but the wound can't heal when the exit wound is huagai: huagai who is the exit wound himself, he does not remember the entrance wound/in vuong's words 'what did i break off from to end up here? how do i go back?'
- so we bring in the second perspective: ao bing. ao bing whose death is the
