The big little comics store hanging out under the stairs at Harrogate's Everyman Cinema. We love everything Comics, Sci-Fi and Fantasy. Likely to re-post about comics we like the look of. Posting mostly by Regie, store owner. www.destinationvenus.co.uk

Screenshot of a tweet with a picture of Leo’s Radic before she was executed by hanging. The executioner is tying the noose around her neck and she is looking down.
On #WomensDay
celebrate antifascist
fighters like Lepa Radic. Born 1925 in Bosanska Gradiska, Bosnia, she was executed by Nazis at age 17. Nazis offered her a deal-life spared if she'd snitch on her comrades. She replied "My comrades will reveal themselves when they avenge me

I need every single male artist that follows me to read this. It's not very long. You need to bear witness to this shit. You have to see it with your own eyes because you never will in your everyday life.

I'm serious, read it all please

He can be charged with more than one crime. Being charged with MIPO allows for extensive searches of both physical and digital spaces. If evidence of more crimes is uncovered he can be charged. Of course, MIPO is really hard to convict on so a cynic might say the plan is to get him aquitted...

Not enough people know that in order to be considered for an Eisner Award... you have to SEND YOUR SHIT IN!!!!

The ONLY works considered are those that are submitted. And ANYONE can submit.

It always blows my mind that I get to vote on these - but I can't vote for you if you don't get nominated - and as @jordancollver.bsky.social points out, if you make comics you CAN be nominated. If you're a small press/self published creator get yourself on the list!

Hi new friends! We make comics, and for the last year we’ve been making a smart, hella gay romcom about weddings, crime, and how shitty rich people can be.

Check out the cover and first 10 pages in the link, check the hashtag #WorstManOGN for a bunch of WIP stuff, and maybe give it a preorder?

He showed real grace. I had found the hype around him more than a little annoying, but that's on the media, not him. His reaction was the essence of sportsmanship.

I have told a few MPs this. I genuinely feel a lot of adults hate the existence and needs of young people. Then they act surprised/bewildered that these kids are anxious/depressed.

The Wednesday Waffle 4th February 2026: Comics in a time of Crisis There always seems to be a crisis of some sort going on in comics. Inside the pages of our favourite books we've had a Crisis on Infinite Earths, two Civil Wars, Invasions, Infernos, a Cataclysm, a Ga...

We have resurrected the "Wednesday Waffle" blog, initially as a way of explaining why our opening hours have been so erratic lately. Read the latest here!

@davidmbarnett.bsky.social was the first comics pro to visit Desties after I took over. Heck of a nice chap - and Punk's Not Dead is two volumes of absolute perfection. If you have not read it, do so.

Then demand another volume. Because you'll want one.
