ICE Barbie Says Immigrants Are Too Dumb to Drive Semitrucks Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem made the inane claim while bragging about arresting immigrant truck drivers.

Yet in 2010, Noem—then a congressional candidate—had “20 speeding tickets, three stop-sign violations, two seat-belt violations and a citation for driving with no driver’s license.” She had six court notices for failing to appear, and had two warrants out for her arrest. trib.al/uQSDaqR

🧵 I know everyone wants to believe that ICE is just a bunch of J6ers under Trump, but let's be clear about something: ICE has always been like this. Denying that and pushing the idea that they're only like this because of Trump is dangerous. Assuming this leaves us in a place where we simply...

If you have it please donate cash to the food banks. $10 in their hands will feed more people than the $10 worth of canned goods you can buy for retail prices. Also check on your elders. Many of them will not admit they rely on these programs so grocery gift cards or a surprise bag of staples

What is the “working class”? They’re not the burly white men that white male pundits think they are

“The working class—defined as workers without a four-year college degree—makes up almost two-thirds of the workforce and is more racially and ethnically diverse than the college-educated workforce.”

We have armed secret police kidnapping people off the street based on the color of their skin.

When we win: we will haul them before a Senate committee. The masks will come off. There will be consequences.

Probably not many people know what TRIO is. The programs help first-generation or low-income high school students and veterans get into college, and help with early childhood education. I researched and helped write two grant proposals which were funded.

Trump Administration Withholds Millions for TRIO Programs Nonprofits that advocate for first-gen students say that without the federally funded programs, college could become unattainable for hundreds of thousands of students.

Stop calling it "witholding". The money was appropriate by Congress, and by law was to be disbursed to the intended programs. The money was supposed to go to the programs, Trump and McMahon prevented it from doing so, sending the $$ back to the Treasury. Call it theft, because it is.

Waiting @ back doctor’s lobby b/cs my father has chronic back issues & severe pain. Farm worker’s backs break & hurt is completely accurate. Farm workers get bad backs & other health issues. This work is highly racialized & we need better conditions/legalization for farm workers.

1)Those deported aren't allowed to come back legally quickly
2)No; immigrants aren't "naturally" better at doing farm labor & picking produce from the ground. Their backs break & hurt too. This racial essentialism isn't new see books "Building Walls: Excluding Latinos" & "Fresh Fruit, Broken Bodies"

#OTD in 1973, a "March for Justice" took place in protest against the killing of Santos Rodríguez in #Dallas. While being questioned about a robbery, Rodríguez was killed by a Dallas policeman, Darrell Cain. Cain was subsequently tried for #murder and convicted, and Rodríguez was exonerated.
