Wilshaw: Longer inspection needed if report card proposals go ahead But former Ofsted chief backs a return to inspecting teaching as a separate category in school inspections

It's telling that Wilshaw is pretty much the only person I've seen to comment positively on the potential introduction of an Ofsted teaching grade. Probably tells you all you need to know, in fact.

I’ve been quiet on the subject of Ofsted recently, waiting for details to surface before commenting. So, we can see from TES and The Guardian that details have emerged about the ‘scorecard’ system set to replace the current inspection framework next September….

I’m doing that now. Sadly I have lost both my parents - my dad recently. I am very aware that waiting can mean it never happens. Both of my parents were relatively young, so waiting for my retirement would be foolish.

I’ve had a wonderful summer getting away and spending time with the family after a rubbish year. I need to get back into the school vibe soon but I’m not feeling it. Anyone else struggling? #backtoschool

I add it to the end of my HT governor report with date, name of course, who did it and impact. It means that Govs also get to see what we are all doing.

After a tough few years, we finally got to enjoy some family time on a holiday booked in 2019! A reminder that time together is precious. #family
