One of the first photos I posted here. He was such a bright light in my life. Evans syndrome is a formidable foe, and I hope in the future it can be conquered so nobody else’s loved one suffers with it. My poor baby, barely over 2 years old.

What a beauty! And what a long life, obviously full of love. Thank you for taking such good care of her. I’m sorry for your loss.

Unfortunately he relapsed, and no cause for his illness was found. Ultimately he struggled mightily to breathe (possibly due to a blood clot in his lungs?) and had to be let go to end his suffering. Rest in peace, Harry, you’ll never be forgotten.

He first became sick last month. After 5 days of hospitalization and two blood transfusions he miraculously returned home, where he was smothered in constant cuddles and enjoyed the best cat life.

Sudden illness took Harry’s young life. He had Evans syndrome, where his red blood cells and platelets were depleted/destroyed. He was a brave boy, fought hard, and wanted to live.

Harry was as sunny as his beautiful fluffy orange coat. Exuberant, goofy, affectionate. Everyone who met him loved him and commented on how handsome and friendly he was. He made a huge impact in his too short life (approximately 2 years and 3 months old). He is very deeply missed.

Sending love to all those pet parents who’ve experienced illness and loss recently. The heartbreak is staggering. Harry had the sweetest energy and loving spirit, and it’s crushing to be at home without him.

This is my last photo of Harry, taken yesterday. Approximately age 2.5. He took a sudden turn for the worse this am, kept precipitously declining, and was struggling to breathe. He is at peace now. Many of you know this ache. He’ll be in our hearts forever.

Tonight in weird cookies: harissa tahini. I like trying new and unusual combinations, especially spicy + sweet. I made a few minor alterations (instead of ras el hanout I used a mix of garam masala and pumpkin pie spice). Not bad, but spices are more subtle than expected.
