Die Menschen im #Iran sind voller Freude und Hoffnung, dass jetzt etwas passiert - und zugleich voller Angst vor Gewalt und dass es wieder nicht klappt, dass die Unterdrückung nur zunimmt.

My thoughts are with the people of #Iran. Women & men who for years been caught between repression at home & escalation abroad.

They aren't responsible for this regime. Yet they keep paying highest price.

What they deserve is freedom, security & chance to live a life in dignity.

Transnational Repression is a threat to #humanrights, European #sovereignty and #security. Our response frameworks are inadequate. That’s what we want to change with our report in @europarl.europa.eu Committee on Foreign Affairs to #StopTransnationalRepression

Booking.com-Sperre: Frankfurter Hilton-Hotel landet im Iran-Konflikt Booking.com hat das Hilton Frankfurt City Centre entfernt. Der Besitzer der Immobilie ist offenbar ein Iraner, der in Großbritannien auf der Sanktionsliste steht.

Besitzer des Frankfurter Hilton Ali Ansari ist ein Unterstützer der #IRGC. Booking.com hat das Hotel deshalb jetzt von der Plattform geworfen. Die Sanktionieren der #EU zeigte schon vor Eintritt erste Wirkung. Die Grauzonen schrumpfen weiter:

That requires broad coalitions, mutual respect & strategic clarity.

Attempts to discredit respected human rights advocates, including @nazaninboniadi.bsky.social, @nargesfnd.bsky.social, Kurdish or Baloch activists do not advance the cause of freedom.

They distract from what truly matters.

Debate strengthens a movement.
Personal attacks weaken it.

I sincerely hope more and more will join this call to focus energy toward ending authoritarian rule. Not toward undermining one another.
