Just realized I don't have to wait til the con starts to post my finished badge, so here's the design I'll be wearing around for Vancoufur 2026 next week (the theme is Wonderland)! I'm quite proud of how it turned out!
(even if my cheap inkjet printer didn't fully agree lol. it's ok I sorted it out)

Just streaming a run of Tunic Randomizer tonight! I did a few more runs offline since last time and feel like I've been improving, so let's see if I can put it to use! Come hang out!

alright my laundry's just about done and i'm gonna eat some dinner now before folding it, so i SHOULD be able to do a shorter stream tonight. honestly i might just do Tunic Rando after all, but simply do a single (~2-3 hour) run again? i think that'd be fine

ok actually I might've lied, it'd make more sense to skip tonight's stream (unless I start later and play something short) to get more travel prep done, and then stream Tunic tomorrow night instead? cuz if I do laundry tonight, my clothes will be ready to pack tomorrow

i do wish they'd had the split dpad buttons in the same colours-under-glossy-plastic look as the originals tho, cuz the clear plastic by itself looks MUCH duller. if i knew they would stand out this much i probably would've just gotten blue/purple ones. the sticks are cool tho! they glow in the dark

the thumbsticks were just a cosmetic thing (previously they were just the default black ones) but the dpad was swapped for split buttons, cuz apparently that's... just a thing you can do? they feel SO much better now, i CANNOT fathom why stock PS controllers always have such mushy inaccurate dpads

among other stuff accomplished today, i finally got around to opening up my PS5 controller again and replacing more of the parts. swapped out the awful rear shell i had before (its glossy finish kept cracking/peeling and also made my hands sweaty), and also changed the thumbstick caps and the dpad

yeah anything that'd normally make you drowsy (sleepytime tea, cold medicine, etc) WILL compound with prog and knock you the fuck out, speaking both from research and experience from when i was sick a few weeks ago. makes for GREAT sleep but you def gotta go to bed IMMEDIATELY after taking them lol

yeah you gotta! i only get an hour to pet those bunnies, clearly i gotta rely on folks like you to make sure they stay adequately loved

see i always saw it as less "friendship = does what i want" and more "friendship = we're perfectly in sync, i barely need to call out tactics cuz me and my pokemon trust each other so deeply and basically act as one" which is sorta how it's represented in the anime. but i agree that'd be very fun!!

(i only bother to specify about the PMD thing cuz if you played a demo of anything a decade ago it was PROBABLY Super for the 3DS. i finally forced myself to finish that one last year and WOOF it's genuinely one of my most hated games ever. the pacing's abysmal, it basically has a 10+ hour tutorial)

my recc for PMD is SPECIFICALLY Explorers of Sky, it's widely agreed to be the best one and a good entry point, tho Red/Blue Rescue Team (and its remake) is decently solid too! the rest of the series is pretty polarizing tho lol

yeah there's only one in my entire country, so it always seemed like kind of a pipe dream, but then i made plans to fly out to Vancouver for a furry con and realized "wait. that's where the bunny cafe is. hey do you guys wanna go to the bunny cafe while we're there" so we're doing it

oh damn is it really? i could've sworn they removed it entirely when they went back to merging friendship+happiness, so they were just used for stuff like Return and certain evolutions again. i was under the impression that that was also why Sylveon's evo requirements had to be changed. interesting!

(the first one is a lot more of a serious recommendation than the second, Legends ZA is definitely still more of a typical pokemon JRPG but with real-time combat in a 3D space as its new gimmick, but the fact that they keep mixing things up in terms of the base gameplay formula is neat at least)

see maybe you gotta play the spinoffs then. there's PMD: Explorers of Sky, a tactical dungeon-crawler where you ARE a pokemon and your bond with your partner gives you the strength to defeat gods, or Legends ZA, an action-RPG where your pokemon charge up faster if you face danger right by their side

mmhm! if it was just a gradual small improvement of RNG rolls in your favor (slightly more crits, lower chance of incoming secondary move effects and higher chance of outgoing, better damage ranges) the more your pokemon likes you, that'd be perfect tbh. it's gotta feel like your bond made you lucky
