More than 3,000 MPS students experienced homelessness last school year. That number is staggering, and personal.
My parents took in kids who needed help, far beyond our own family. That experience shapes who I am and how Iβll lead.

City leaders say public safety is improving. But people at 28th and Irving, in Northeast on Marshall, and in Kingfield arenβt feeling that.
It is like saying the economy is strong because of the stock market, while folks canβt afford groceries.

Minneapolis Public Schools are facing a $95 million budget shortfall. Iβm a parent of three MPS students, and Iβve taught at both the college and law school level.
I know firsthand how urgent this is. We need real leadership that puts our kids and classrooms first.

It is official. I am the first DFL candidate in this election to file to run for Mayor of Minneapolis.
I am running for safer neighborhoods, affordable housing, and good jobs in every ward. Letβs build a city that works for all of us.

Hit the Northeast Farmers Market this weekend. Good food, good people, and a lot of local flavor. Always a great way to spend a Saturday in Minneapolis.

For every 5 people leaving the trades, only 2 are entering. That puts Minneapolis at risk when it comes to housing, infrastructure, and good-paying jobs. My tour of LIUNA showed how we can connect our youth to these essential careers.

Brought the family to the Ward 11 picnic last night, great to be back at the same park where I played Little League football as a kid. We used to face Purple Pearl hereβ¦ and they always beat us. I havenβt forgotten. π
Grateful for this community.

Iβm disappointed our current administration hasnβt corrected the decision to let the officer who killed Amir Locke train others on use of force. If we truly have the most diverse and staffed force in years, surely we can find someone better. Minneapolis deserves accountability to rebuild trust.
