Rooms that you’ve explored are filled in on your map only upon resting at a bench.
As for why *some* of the map is pre-drawn, I think it’s a nudge with the narrative that the map maker happened to explore those rooms.
This is making me forget if Silksong explains the map filling in or if it was knowledge transferred from Hollow Knight

It is utterly wild how perfectly and quickly I can get to Zote, and how much of a coin flip that fight is to me. I just can’t tell where the dude is going to WALK. And that collision damage is my kryptonite.
