why is it that i have such short patience for people who come to me to process deaths of these sorts, i really wish i understood why it grinds my gears so much. i get so frustrated at the lack of perspective these kinds of people have... the crow ate the bird, but that's what crows have always done.

i get so exhausted dealing with people who come talk to me about how a hawk/jay/crow/etc killed a vulnerable smaller bird and how much they HATE that bigger bird and hate ALL of them now. what the fuck is your problem. that bird was EATING. i'm being callous, but death happens! cycle of life!

there is a person having a breakdown on a birding group i'm in because a jay ate a fledgling bird in front of them and they're starting to get real aggressive about jays. please calm the fuck down, this is how the world works. leave the jays be. this is a NATURAL PREDATOR
