I couldn't stand grunge at the time, I liked pop music and jangly indie. But I've mellowed. I listened to Nirvana's 'Bleach' a little while ago and it sounded great.
After spending a decent chunk of 1991 living in student Halls of Residence, I don't ever need to hear Smells Like Teen Spirit again. Ever.
Not as far as I know, but my God if the job is available...

Yeah, he was very unwell for a long time and it was awful to see. I hadn't seen him for a couple of decades, but he used to come on my old radio show to talk about his band Mavis, and he was always good fun.
Thanks - that's a nice tribute. And sad to say James McMahon, who wrote that obit, has also since died - I knew him a bit from the North-east music scene, far too many years ago to be true. God, I'm ancient.

That's sad news - I didn't know that either. Had a real soft spot for Silver Sun in the 1990s. I think their guitarist Richard Buckton was from Teesside... and was (possibly) the son of David Buckton, a lovely chap that I knew from Boro Supporters Club. They were definitely related.

I woke up like a zombie, but I am now dancing down the stairs singing "One Singular Sensation" with jazz hands.
Had a dream last night where a malevolent spectral presence was crouching right next to me at the side of the bed and singing in a soft voice: "If you had accepted me / Life would stay the same / Now you have rejected me / I will sing your name". Not a great night's sleep.
