Obviously this is not a line of thinking that is inherent to veganism or vegetarianism, but there is a pathway people follow that takes them past those things to a bad place. So advocating a plant based diet is not by itself enough to guarantee a nice and thoughtful person

Some people seem to become vegetarian or vegan out of a motivation, not of concern for the environment or others, but of a concern for their own wellbeing. This ties in with "wellness" thinking and seems to cross over to right wing conspiracy nonsense. I think that is the link.

The vegan restaurant near where we live turned out to be run by cookers who did not believe in proper covid precautions and in the end also did not believe in having to pay their staff super.

I think there are several directions one approaches veganism from, and one is a bad direction

I suspect some of those who say they hate white supremacy do not back that up with their behaviour
