Hilarious Official Trailer for 'Scary Movie' Reboot from Marlon Wayans "I have been preparing for this for years." Paramount Pictures has unveiled the hilarious official trailer for the comedy spoof sequel Scary Movie, also known as Scary Movie 6 (or Scary Movie VI), reviving this spoof comedy franchise that ran for decades. It's a nice return because it's good to see all these recent horror movies spoofed in this funny way! "We're baaaaaack." The very first Scary Movie debuted in 2000 and the series continued on with sequels in 2001, 2003, 2006, and most recently in 2013 - it has been a full 13 years since the last one. This comedy sequel is a riff on the recent Scream 7 - the Core Four are back in the killer’s crosshairs and no horror movie IP is safe. Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Anna Faris, and Regina Hall reunite in Scary Movie alongside returning favorites and fresh faces to slash through reboots, remakes, requels, prequels, sequels, spin-offs, elevated horror, origin stories, anything with the word legacy in it, and every "final chapter" that absolutely isn’t final. 😱 Ha ha. The ensemble cast also includes Jon Abrahams, Lochlyn Munro, Dave Sheridan, Cheri Oteri, Anthony Anderson, Chris Elliott, Damon Wayans Jr, & many others. I hope this means spoof comedies are coming back! Between last year's The Naked Gun and this, we could use more of these - always good fun to laugh at how dumb everything is nowadays. Enjoy.Β //Β Continue Reading β€Ί

The world could be such a nice place if we allowed it. It's all so goddamn unnecessary. There's no need for any of it. It's so beautiful here. It should be so cool to be alive

Just had a healthy yummy breakfast I forget about until I don't....fluffed up egg white scramble with spinach and feta, a heavy sprinkle of garlic salt and triple splash of Sriracha. No photo, no time, in belly.

I hate that we are living in times where it feels the only thing we can do is triage those affected. Where charity is the only weapon against the worst people in the world. But if you can fix something for someone today, please do it. A lot of folks are asking for help, maybe throw them some.

Teaser for Jane Schoenbrun's 'Teenage Sex & Death at Camp Miasma' "There is a hole at the bottom of the lake where the movies come from. He always comes back..." Uh, what? Mubi has unveiled the first look teaser for the indie slasher horror film titled Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma, the latest feature made by filmmaker Jane Schoenbrun of the indie hit I Saw the TV Glow previously. After that was a hit, they were given a major chance to work with Brad Pitt's Plan B to produce a slasher concept. A queer director making a new slasher franchise sequel becomes obsessed with casting the original film's "final girl," leading both women into psychological and sexual chaos. This teaser is obviously timed with Scream 7 opening this weekend doing this exact thing. "A new kind of horror remake," starring Hannah Einbinder and Gillian Anderson. The cast also features Amanda Fix, Arthur Conti, Eva Victor, Zach Cherry, Sarah Sherman, Patrick Fischler, Dylan Baker, Quintessa Swindell, Kevin McDonald, Jasmin Savoy Brown, and Jack Haven. The first look teaser is packed with some exciting glimpses! I really dig the old school vibes & painted backdrops. Keep an eye out for this later in the summer.Β //Β Continue Reading β€Ί

Delighted to see I Swear winning awards at the Baftas - it's a brilliant and important film with great performances and I hope this encourages even more people to see it.

Sadly I think this place is dying... It tried to be the successor to X, but there's just no space for it anymore and everyone is tired of social media.

An old photograph of an elephant bird skeleton that has been rotated to give the illusion that it might belong to an alien ghost.

Huh.

If you rotate an elephant bird skeleton, you get quite a nice gangly xenomorph ghost.

Thinking about Them! again. A perfect marriage of Atomic Horror meets the fear of the Specter of Communism.

The allegory works well as it is subtle (more subtle than Invasion of the Body Snatchers) and is based on a fun creature feature script.
Classic Americana, even if I am an Ant in disguise.

Freaky Full Trailer for 'Lee Cronin's The Mummy' with May Calamawy "What was our daughter doing in a 3000 year old sarcophagus." I'm afraid to find out! Warner Bros and Blumhouse have debuted the very scary full official trailer for the new 2026 horror remake officially titled Lee Cronin's The Mummy. No, it's not just The Mummy (like the Brendan Fraser classic), Cronin got his name in the actual name of the movie: Lee Cronin's The Mummy. The daughter of a journalist disappears into the desert without a trace – until eight years later, the broken family is shocked when she is returned to them. What should be a joyful reunion turns into a living nightmare... She is a freaky mummy now returned to life. This stars Jack Reynor, Laia Costa, May Calamawy, Natalie Grace, VerΓ³nica FalcΓ³n, and Emily Mitchell. From the Evil Dead Rise director, this looks more like Pet Sematary remixed with The Mummy, with Cronin also trying to put in tons of Evil Dead-esque gore. This is definitely more horrifying than the teaser with a lot of scary moments. But will this movie actually be any good? We'll find out in April.Β //Β Continue Reading β€Ί

Sundance 2026 Final Recap: 10 Favorite Films - The Best from the Fest The 2026 Sundance Film Festival has wrapped up after another lively 10-day in-person event held up in the Utah mountains (its final year before moving to Colorado in 2027), along with an online counterpart for the second half. Now it's time to present our annual Best of the Fest list from the 2026 selection. I was able to catch a total of 54 films this year (my full list on Letterboxd), half of them at screenings in Park City & Salt Lake City, the other half online previews at home. Always watching. This was my iconic 20th year attending & covering Sundance - ever since 2007 I've been publishing my Best of the Fest faves. This fest is still as vitally important to indie cinema as ever – read my full editorial on the last 20 years. I'm always glad to be back up there, watching films all day, every day. I am presenting my final list of my 10 favorite films - a mix of documentaries and narrative features. All 10 are superb, and I encourage watching them on the big screen if possible. Viewing all these early at the festival with an audience is a special vibe. I also recorded a podcast talking about many of the Sundance films (good and bad). Below are the best of the best, the films that connected with me the most and have remained on my mind all the way beyond the end of the festival.Β //Β Continue Reading β€Ί

Superb Final Trailer for Ryan Gosling's 'Project Hail Mary' Sci-Fi Movie "If Grace, Rocky save stars, we can go home." This is going to be totally awesome! Amazon MGM Studios + Sony have launched the spectacular final trailer for Project Hail Mary, the epic sci-fi space adventure movie from filmmakers Phil Lord & Chris Miller about saving our solar system. Ready to land in theaters in March 2026 and it's looking better than ever. This new trailer also comes with a new Super Bowl spot to launch the hype before it opens soon. Adapted from Andy Weir's acclaimed novel of the same name, this is the story of an astronaut who tries to save Earth while alone in outer space. The movie stars Ryan Gosling as Ryland Grace, who wakes up on a spacecraft at Tau Ceti with no memory of himself or his mission. But he then figures out he was sent here to help save Earth and has to figure it out what to do entirely on his own – until he meets another creature. Co-starring Sandra HΓΌller as Eva Stratt, Ryland's superior, and Milana Vayntrub as Olesya Ilyukhina, his other Russian crewmate. This third trailer (view the other two) features tons of footage with Rocky, his alien friend (an on-set real puppet not CGI) who helps him figure out how to save their stars. It's not a big spoiler because there's much more to this than just these two. Cannot wait!Β //Β Continue Reading β€Ί
