Is anyone else getting a little tired of all the extremely graphic depictions of violence and the overall bleakness and grittiness in contemporary movies and series?

Personally I would pay to see more good sci-fi and fantasy that is cerebral and thought-provoking but without all the gore.

It still astonishes me that Lucas Games has not reissued the Atari arcade games outside of an expensive faux-cabinet.

Holy shit The Naked Gun was an absolute delight. Haven't seen a comedy like that in so long. Relentless jokes. Everything an opportunity to cram in a joke. Hilarious but nothing mean spirited. No punching down. And they picked the perfect villain. So good.

THE NAKED GUN: I can’t remember the last time I:

- laughed this much in a theater
- had such high hopes for a movie
- wasn’t even a little let down

From the first scene (specifically, a sound effect of bowling pins) I knew they’d gotten it exactly right. Couldn’t have hoped for a better sequel.

Casting Lee Pace (and the other two) is part of the magic. But also yes - this show rules and they handle the concept of time relativity excellently throughout the story.

I am always so amazed by how damn good the Genetic Dynasty stuff is in Foundation.

Can't wait for the new Naked Gun movie. Liam Neeson is a perfect choice to inherit the franchise. I like in the trailer when he's reading the paperwork on a guy in the interrogation room and tells him "it says here you did 10 years for man's laughter."
